Binding Financial Agreements

Binding Financial Agreements (BFAs) are one of the ways of finalising financial matters.

Parties can enter into the following types of BFAs:

  • Agreements made prior to entering a marriage

  • Agreements made during a marriage but prior to separation

  • Agreements made after separation but prior to divorce

  • Agreements made after separation and divorce

  • Termination agreement (ending the earlier financial agreement entered into).

We recommend however that you should discuss with us whether a BFA would best suit your individual circumstances.

Please note that all parties to a BFA must receive Independent Legal Advice
